This is probably an obvious point, but if
you can afford it, a much better solution
is a cordless mouse (and keyboard). I have
two Logitech setups and can't imagine why
anyone would have anything other than cordless
peripherals ... apart from the possibility of
the batteries running out at an inopportune
moment.

I agree with HarryO. The guys in our CAD team have been using Logitech cordless mouseman mice for over a year now and we have had no problems so far either with reliability or interference. The batteries last for ages and you get plenty of warning if they're going flat. Don't get an infra-red one though as they really munch though the batteries - 3 weeks a set compared to nearly 3 months in the non-infrared.
