I used to have an EBcases Slipper with a plastick button for the belt clip that I hooked on a seatbelt while getting out of the car. That was the end of that case. The new Slippers have metal buttons and the one I have has lasted 2 years of daily use.
Do you think the Piel Frama belt clip will hold up better? I love the look of the case but am worried I'll end up with a $60 belt case that will be worthless to me.

I think that the button is strong enough for daily use, but I can guarantee you that if you caught the belt-clip just right, it would come flying off.

Unfortunately, I believe that this would be the case with just about every belt clip I have ever seen - so you would have to just be aware of that, and be careful.

Thanks for the reply Judie! Maybe I'll give the Piel Frama a try once I decide what my next PDA will be.
While you're probably right that any belt-clip button can be broken, there isn't any doubt that the new buttons and clips on the EBcases are a marked improvement over the old ones. What has been bothering me is that in the pictures of the belt clips of several cases that interest me look a lot like the old style EBcases clips.

First class products from first class leather brand. Better than Vaja in my opinion.

I think the article was interesting (and one of the first to have a case for the E-200),
but I've yet to see a case for a "thicker" device.

I'm assuming that nearly everyone who totes an IPAQ today has at least one sled.

Personally I think that we are going to see a large number of folks buying the sleds for either HP and Casio's this year (Yep, I've got mine). The new wireless cards are also going to make truly wireless PDA access more of a reality. I just wish there were more vendors who'd think about cases that were either thinker or expandable.

If you have a case that fits the bill please drop me a line.

Regards,
Ken

Judie,

thickness measurements that you give in the article must include beltclip. How much does the case itself add to the thickness?

Thanks,

Nope, the beltclip was NOT used in those measurements...

Scud,

I promise you...Those measurements are correct. It made me do a double-take, too.

Judie, I noticed that you said the cutouts were "exact". I just got my case and my cutouts are misaligned for the power button, reset button and ac adapter jack. The reset button is almost unreachable and the power button is hard to hit. The leather near the ac adapter jack gets pinched by the plug and i almost have to force it to get it to insert. Did you have any of these problems with yours?

Unruly,

No, I have none of those problems with any of the cases I received. You might drop Piel Frama an e-mail - give them the chance to make it right. I bet they will.

Let us know how it goes!

Judie,
I did send them an email detailing the problems that I experienced relating to the cutouts. They were nice enough to let me keep the case (their treat) and promised to "make better products in the future." I have to give them an A+ for customer service as that message, as well as the message that said they'd ship me the case for free, was from the owner of the company, named Francisco. They always responded immediately via email to any & all questions I had, and besides the issue with the cutouts, the case is beautifully made.

Krusell has a pda case with a clip system that looks unique. The "Big Steel" swivel belt clip might just be the ticket for the rough tough PDA users!

Just got my case and I love it. What I like most is the luxuriousness of the case goes a long way toward cancelling the geekiness of clipping a PDA to my belt.

The Piel Frama Leather Case looks great-I am just wondering if it truly aligns with all of the clie N series-specifically the N760C?

For anyone considering the Piel Frama for the new Sony T665C........ I e-mailed Piel Frama to find out if their current 600 series case (that was brought out for the T615) properly fit the new T665, since the T665 has some repositioned buttons. They told me the 600 series case had been modified for the new T665, and would fit properly.

Judie,

What type of closure is used on these cases? From the pictures in your review it looks like velcro. I'm considering using this case as a wallet replacement and I would be carrying my credit cards in the card slots.

AL007,

These cases close by use of a snap, so your cards will be safe from magnets, and there is no offending Velcro.

Hi,
GREAT hearing a conversion about cases. i am getting a treo 600 in two days and started looked at the Vaja case 797. can anyone tell me what the difference is in the feel of the two?

the 797 is out of stock and the piel frama case seems only to be available in black. i'd like the tan. is there a piel frama website or # to order it from or better yet - talk to Francisco, the owner! an order # would be fine or a site.

after reading all your posts, i'm definately leaning toward the piel frama. still looking around though.

do you guys use the phoneguard program too to keep the flip from activating calls and answering calls if its in your purse or gets touched by mistake while closed? love your opinion on that as well.

thanks, Sarah

Hi,

since 10 days I am a proud owner of an excellent Piel Frama leather-case for my new SE P910i smartphone. Like all of you and many others, I´m very very pleased with that case.

Unfortunately the belt-clip broke after only two days use(it happened, when I leaved my car). It was great fortune, that I noticed the damage before dropping my phone.

I e-mailed to Piel Frama and suggested to develope another more reliable clip.
My idea is a steel clip on a leather-loop, which cannot open.

Hope they can make it better and long lasting to avoid potential loss.

I´ll post here, whatever will happen.
Rainer
