Gavin is great. I love Wassup and he really seems to appreciate and listen to input from his users. He is one of the coolest and most responsive developers out there, and I am looking forward to what he is doing next. |

When I first heard this idea to do a "gadgeteer of the month" I thought it was pretty dumb. But on reading Gavin's bit, I find it somehow very interesting. It's not about gadgets, its about fellow gadgeteers. It's interesting to know other people's stories, and how they became gadget freaks. Maybe it just makes me feel better about being a gadget freak myself. Whatever the reason, I like the new column. |

I'm telling you, the BLAST FROM THE PAST article was REALLY cool too! More of that! |

I saw this guy on that Channel [V] show he was talking about so many years ago! It's odd because that show really got me curious about the possibilities of gadgeting. I guess you could say if it weren't for Gavin, there'd be one less gadgeteer...or at least until another gadgeteer had walked by w/ a cool palm... |

Hey, nice story about Gavin! I worked with Gavin a few years ago in the retail store he wrote about. He truly is a gadgeteer, and a great guy. Aussies tend to adopt new technology quickly, and there are a lot of Palm users here in Sydney. Mine's my portable office, and I send 50-60 SMS messages with it. |

I find this section of the-gadgeteer makes me embarrassed for the people being featured and I squirm reading it. Yes, I know I don't have to read it, but it's sort of like having the Jerry Springer show on when you're at a store and you just stop to watch for a minute. Let me just mention that I do love this site because Julie and Judie write great reviews and seem to have active lives outside of their gadget lustings. However, reading about lonely guys who collect lots of toys to compensate just makes me sad... |

Jak's gadgets look great except for the Leatherman. The Leatherman is garbage compared to the Gerber. Check out this page http://www.gerberblades.com/gerberlegendaryblades.html?8239 |

Meshac: Those do look cool. I'll admit that I've always had a slight pocket knife fetish. I'll have to see if they will send me a sample to review. Thanks for the link! Julie |

Just make sure you get the needle nose version. I've had one for about 6 years now. They are great. Anyway, Hey Jack! Where did you get that remote control car? That looks neat, pretty small too. |

I agree with Astros Fan. Go with the needle-nose. I am a biomedical electronics technician and I use mine every day. |

Hi, I am a low cost gadgeteer - I tend to pick up my gadgets where I find them at the lowest cost - fortunately I have been able to travel to other countries for work. The Leatherman was from Mustapha's in Singapore; an absolutely amazing department store that should not be missed. The micro racer was from one of the toy stores in Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur - not the cheapest, more of a gift to myself. It is similar to BitCharG's but I think it is a Chinese copy. The Nokia data cable was from Hong Kong - one of the computer shops in Kowloon. The USB power cable for the Palm from eBay auctions. Overall, some good purchases, but a long time to collect it all. Im sorry that you assume i am lonely but im not. i have a good amount of friends, and most arent even nerds like i am. some dont even care that i have all this stuff. its sad that because of jealousy, people have to be rude, especially this shaklee3 person, who doesnt stop emailing me. i have done research of my own, and come to find out he is just as big a gadget person as i am. its pretty low to have to send someone emails because you are jealous of them. this is an honor, but my whole life isnt just PDA's and computers. so please, dont make that assumption. |

Man, don't sweat the small stuff like that. I think it's pretty cool that they have this little 'expose' on people that like their website. In my little world I'm known as the 'techie' along with my Dad (who's an MBA EE) who is a SERIOUS techie. I can't even compete. Probably b/c I just bought a house and his is paid off I was never the 'nerd' or the 'geek' or whatever. So I don't know how that would feel. But I can say that electronics have had a HUGE impact on my life, hey what would we do without them? I really enjoy reading about how involved some of you are with your 'big boy toys'. I'm just jealous b/c I can't afford as many as I would like! That's the techie in me. Always searching the net or reading the latest tech/pc/pda rag to find out what's the latest "that would be cool to have, but what in the hell would I actually use it for?" stuff. So..in parting, rock on and filter his email address! Later |

http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/ubb/Forum392/HTML/000001.html is an insane thread about those mini RC cars! I just spent the past hour reading it. I had no idea this little world existed. Cool |

Thanks Julie and Judy, for the opportunity to be the GOTM. My friends and co-workers were sort of unimpressed, but it was good for a laugh, and it meant something to me. Keep up the great reviews. Jak. |

Sorry about your Jornada, I'm getting mad just thinking of it. I also write some reviews, and isn't it fun? I hope you listened in class better than I did Good luck with school! |

Justin, I'm sorry for you losing your Jornada. Yeah, maybe you were too much trusting, but then again see it as a beautifull and positive thing of you. It's great that you have this positive attitude. It's a shame that there are people out there making advantage / mis-use of it. Success with your career. Keep up your spirit, I'm sure you're going to make it! |
